Japan's farm ministry said Friday it has newly registered three products, including "Japanese tea," under its geographical indication protection system aimed at safeguarding brands of agricultural and fishery products as imitations spread overseas. Once registered, products can be sold with a GI mark, and the ministry hopes to boost exports by promoting their authenticity. The system, which began in 2015, now covers 34 products, including "Kochi yuzu" (a type of citrus fruit) and "Mie pearl." The ministry plans to further promote the system, including through the 世界杯买球网 website, to help Japanese producers expand their sales channels abroad.
